Mary-Kate Olsen and Ashley Olsen take their sister act to the next level with the delightful comedy New York Minute. But anything can happen - and does - in a romp involving a pursuing truant officer (Eugene Levy), a smuggler (Andy Richter), hunkalacious guys (Jared Padalecki, Riley Smith) and the girls' realization that when the chips are down, a sister can be the best friend of all. ... Mary-Kate and Ashley take their sister act to the next level with the delightful comedy New York Minute. With DVD special features including bloopers, alternate endings, a behind-the-scenes featurette, a slide show and more, New York Minute is "a movie the whole family can enjoy" (Lisa Breckenridge, Fox 11, Los Angeles). ... There's something unsettling about their Lolitaesque appeal - a quality that "New York Minute" cannily exploits. As a result, the film is so lacking in narrative momentum that it feels twice as long as it is. ... Full Review

Add to the mixture that the film moves faster than a New York minute and asks you to believe in its absurd, crisis-ridden storyline; it's no wonder I felt a bit overwhelmed. Minute isn't really a good movie, but their performances are sufficient to display their professionalism and charisma. ... Full Review

Rather than pound on the problems of New York Minute , as so many other critics are sure to do I've said it many times before, but a good MK&A movie needs some good love interest boys for the girls to play off of, and while the script doesn't give them much to do but be dreamy, the guys in New York Minute were a big step up from the clods of the last few Olsen twin videos. ...
