I've always enjoyed watching this movie.

As an horror lover I never have been a too big fan of Stephen King or his horror movie adaptations, since I find his work to be very formulaic but I've always enjoyed watching this pleasant light little movie. Without its... Full review

Set in the small township of Castle Rock - a fictional location created by Stephen King - 'Needful Things' is the tale of an antiques shop run by Leland Gaunt, the Devil himself, played by Max Von Sydow. As the proprietor... Full review

I have read reviews that this movie was bad, but I liked the book enough to discard those reviews. Please, heed the warning. The movie butchers the book. It was different from the beginning. At first I though it was just... Full review

I have to admit that having read of this horror film I approached it with some trepidation - Stephen King's work is not very familiar to me. I know his reputation, and I have meant to read him, but I have... Full review

An excellent movie based on the Stephen King novel, where the devil shows his face in this small town down south, in the form of an old man running a novelty shop with something that everyone wants. The Price? Doing small... Full review

"Needful Things" is a typical mediocre Stephen King adaptation. The drawn out book itself isn't among King's best work. Still, the fascination of the story lies in the detail and that had to be trimmed down for a 2 hours-movie version... Full review

As is usually the case when a novel is made into a movie, "Needful Things" will most likely be enjoyed more by those who have not read the book. But, as horror/fantasy films, and Stephen King films for that matter go, "Needful Things" is a fun thriller that offers some great performances. ... Full Review

Which may be worth remembering on the admittedly slender chance that you go to see "Needful Things" for its dialogue, which is by turns cheap, cute, histrionic, profane and derivative. Plot threads are left hanging with the bodies, and God's presumably lofty power is reduced to a petulant patty-cake that snaps a church steeple when the priest gets greedy. ... Full Review

That crowd may have trouble with the slow buildup in "Needful Things," and could also be disappointed by a dearth of spectacular effects, particularly given the perpetrator's potential. W.D. Richter's screenplay also tones things down considerably, but even condensed "Needful Things" feels overlong because it takes so long to get going. ... Full Review

Whats surprising about Needful Things is that the ending to the movie was superior to the ending in the book. Conclusion Overall, Needful Things is a fun movie to watch, whether or not you have read the book, or even if you dont have an appreciation for Stephen Kings brand of horror. ... Full Review
