the impressive Aussie import "Ned Kelly" will need some truly heroic word-of-mouth to overcome a tentative initial release....Despite a strong cast of rising international stars.... ... Full Review

The lush cinematography and fast paced but strangely lyrical direction from Jordan give the film a moody....Though gutted by some for its lack of historical accuracy, Gregor Jordan's Ned Kelly practically bristles with energy and righteous passion..... ... Full Review

This is a truly exciting film which concentrates on the narrative to help the audience be part of the proceedings....The overall look of the film is amazing, glorifying the Victorian bushland and dusty towns....Orlando Bloom is sharp and engaging as Ned's best mate and inveterate lady's man, Joe Byrne.... ... Sadly, Ned Kelly lacks creative grit....Adequate performances are ultimately overshadowed by the air of importance firmly imprinted on the Kelly legend.....Jordan's film, based on Robert Drewe's book Our Sunshine (2002), fails to add any fresh insights into the, dare I say, tiresome story.....Ned Kelly was the most infamous and charismatic bushranger Australia had ever seen, primarily.... ...
