Film Threat, Hollywood's Indie V
He was a working actor who alternated between occasionally lousy studio movies and often artistically superior low profile entertainments.....Super serious films with super glum Nic Cage performances would alternate with the quirky, goofy vibrating-head Cage or ole.....In the end, Nicolas Cage suffers from a very simple problem.....Nicolas Cage is not the best actor in Hollywood....He doesn't have the worst track record of any major star.... ... Other than that, the film delivers exactly the same combination of rapidly-solved puzzles, wisecracking dialogue and action-packed set-pieces (right down to a finale in a steadily collapsing set) that made the first film such a success, so if it starts to feel like you've seen it before, it's probably because you have. ... Overcoming numerous obstacles (not the least of which being my bias) National Treasure 2: Book of Secrets is an energetic, totally fun romp (stupid fun, that is) that admirably holds its own as an adventure until the tail end of its inflated two hour run-time. ... Full Review

The villain this time is admirably played by Ed Harris, whose character, Mitch Wilkinson, sets things in motion by producing a missing page from John Wilkes Booth that not only challenges the stories that Ben Gates and his professor father Patrick (Jon Voight) have been telling, but links their ancestor to the Lincoln assassination. ...
