A good movie with a "weirdness" about it that keeps your attention. The makeup and costumes are great and the whole setting is wonderful. If you enjoyed Charlie and the Chocolate Factory you'll love Nanny McPhee; it has the same sick... Full review

It's ironic that a young married couple (with no children) found more entertainment from a "kid/family" movie than one targeted for us. We were looking for a movie that we would find appealing. Unfortunately, there weren't many options to choose from.... Full review

At one time or another, every child probably needs someone like the magical governess in Nanny McPhee , a first-rate family comedy starring Emma Thompson, who's practically unrecognizable in the title role.
Perhaps it's simply Nanny McPhee using her special magic to hypnotize me.

While not quite a classic, it is nonetheless a magically constructed children's film.
Most surprisingly of all, Nanny turns a blind eye to mischief when its effect is desired and the children are willing to live with its consequences.

Except for a few nice, honest moments that manage to sneak in, watching Nanny McPhee is like being beaten over the head with a toy mallet: harmless, yet awfully irritating.
Though Nanny McPhee contains its share of treacly messages about love and family and how to be good little children, don't be fooled.

But as Nanny McPhee takes control, they begin to notice that their vile behavior now leads swiftly and magically to rather startling consequences.
As the children's behavior begins to change, Nanny McPhee's arresting face and frame appear to change as well, creating even more questions about this mysterious stranger whom the children and their father have come to love.
