Regina King is wasted as Gracie's partner/body-guard who has anger issues, and the attempts at turning the film into a buddy movie fails miserably.
It wouldn't matter that the storyline were far-fetched if the characters were true to themselves and we believed in them.

It's colourful, but I'm sorry to say there's little to recommend Miss Congeniality 2.
Sandra Bullock should have known better.

Into that category we must lump 2005's abysmal Miss Congeniality 2: Armed and Fabulous , a piece of cinematic atrocity that damned near erases any memories of the original flick's charms.
Bullock's natural charm evaporates as just becomes annoying and unlikable.

Its easily the best basketball film Ive seen in years.
While some of the jokes take some time to get a chuckle, Latifah and the cast more than make up for it by bringing in their own comedic style and making the film enjoyable and worthy of being a spinoff.

no scene feels particularly important or even very interesting, all seem strung together, jokes in lieu of plot.....That means the film is filled with predictable images, from big neon, elaborate hair, and loud outfits, to gangsters and drag queens.....her best friend from the first movie, Miss United States (Heather Burns), along with traveling companion Stan Field (William Shatner), has been kidnapped..... ... Miss Congeniality 2 wanders on from there, growing progressively worse each second it spends up on screen.
This is a movie so fiercely devoted to being ass-rapingly terrible; itll put you right off going to the theater.

In the previous installment, Gracie Hart (Bullock) went undercover as a contestant in a beauty pageant and saved it from being blown up.
Though, under the ho-hum direction of John Pasquin, most of the actors manage to do a fairly okay job, one feels increasingly that Bullock is repeating her mannerisms and speech pattern from the previous film.
