While for director Priyadarshan, MERE BAAP PEHLE AAP is yet another successful laugh riot; for Shemaroo it is also the association with this veteran director himself, which makes this film so special.
They share an endearing on-screen chemistry and their perfect comic timing only goes to make it so real.

The problem with this film isn't its title alone, which, to begin with, is completely uninspiring.
Just a handful of scenes between Akshaye and Paresh manage to catch your attention; the rest is a monotonous rigmarole, with Om Puri being completely wasted.

Despite hiccups, 'Mere Baap Pehle Aap ' has endearing moments that work to its advantage.

But it is a pleasure to see the graceful Shobhana, and even better to see how good Paresh can be when he's shot through a soft, romantic lens.
Akshaye and Paresh work in such perfect tandem (they've been in loads of the director's films) that the two leading ladies seem almost an intrusion.
