a sucker for melodrama, this is certainly a movie for you.....Indeed, the story of this lates Cusack film is very touching.....Despite its touching theme, Martian Child fails to connect at some level.....there is for this almost desperate desire for a happy ending..... ... Full Review

The storyline is pretty silly....John Cusack is the best and main reason to see this mediocre film about a self-confessed oddball and successful sci-fi writer David who adopts a misfit.....talent like John Cusack at the fore, we can only hope there are better roles for him around the corner.....David (John Cusack) is a successful science fiction writer who is still struggling to recover from his wife's death..... ... The chemistry between John Cusack and Bobby Coleman is endearing and charming.....The breakthrough performance by Bobby Coleman as the Martian Child is delightful....I enjoyed the concept and the way it was put to use, which makes me admire the adorable screenplay.....as always John Cusack give a pleasant performance as the confused dad.....I can almost assure that everyone else will be waiting for that wonderful ending the film has in store..... ...
