The moral dilemma is sweet and makes Man of the Year more satisfying, thought provoking, relevant and touching than we might expect and a great piece of entertainment as well.
Politics, big business and legitimacy are the themes of Man of the Year, which begins as an intriguing, if unbelievable political satire before letting fly into more successful thriller territory.

Man Of The Year is amusing in places....it's never compelling and ultimately unconvincing.....Linney is excellent, particularly in one scene in which her character is unknowingly drugged....It's rare that Linney chooses a bad film....while this isn't terrible, it just doesn't live up to either its stars or its early promise..... ... I used to love Robin Williams when I was younger.
Funny man and political talk show host, Williams' character is a fan favorite.

Commander in Chief: Making of Man of the Year " (13 minutes) is a making of featurette which thankfully spares us from too many clips.

But Man of The Year , like many other DVD released films that left little or no impact on critics or the box office, cant claim itself as better just because its on a new format.
Offering an even less desirable candidate for the job, Man of The Year plunks down Robin Williams with a mean mockery of a system, and only half-baked ideals.

The rest of the movie appeared accurate and concise, as soft sections rarely interfered.
Only a lack of ambition left the Dolby Digital 5.1 soundtrack of Man of the Year with a "B-", as audio quality worked well.

There's the Robin Williams that stretches his acting muscles by choosing some very disturbing roles.
Despite the film's advertising, "Man of the Year" isn't a raucous comedy nor a biting political satire.

the movie suffers some as a result.....Lewis Black is pretty funny as well.....My problem with this movie is....I think that "Man of the Year" (which does steal its title from Time Magazine) would have been better....Christopher Walken is always fun to watch, even in a bad movie..... ... The Good Williams is actually pretty good as Dobbs, leaving aside his usual rapid-fire comic persona for something more grounded and serious.
Man of the Year is well acted and makes some valid political points but it's scuppered by an uneven tone and poor plotting.
