By the time the credits wrap, you've got the feel-good ending that provides the necessary closure, but doesn't leave you quoting any lines afterward. The entire (and entirely predictable) theme of the movie is that people can learn things from each other. ... Full Review

For the most part, the cheerleaders do a good job in the movie and never become so annoying that you want to shut it off. Man of the House does bring some laughs thanks to Tommy Lee Jones' ability to play the serious action hero no matter what the situation ... Full Review

In order that the divorced Jones can look his best when he has a date with a literary professor, his charges give him a makeover and instructions in the arts of love. It's a perfunctorily written comedy-thriller, with few jokes and no suspense, in which the workaholic Jones comes to appreciate the importance of being a cheerleader and the girls learn to take their academic studies more seriously. ... The many personalities of "Man of the House" have long since grown tiresome. From a fairly violent modern urban thriller, it's just mutated, in the space of four minutes, into that cute cheerleader thang. ... Full Review

Director Stephen Herek, a Disney veteran, seems more comfortable with House 's humanizing and gentle humor than its crime scenes, which he plays out as if they were from a different movie. Though predictability runs all through this House, it works up a modest charm thanks to the emergence of likable, individualized characters. ... Full Review
