A fast paced funny movie with some really good looking cheerleaders in it. Great action sequences by Tommy LEE Jones. I thought it looked good from watching the trailers for it and was impressed that I was right. A very cool... Full review

Even well-toned actresses in sportsbras and cheerleading uniforms can't begin to save this dud. The plot is so thin and there never is much action to go with the plot. The only thing that made me smile were seens from the... Full review

This movie really is a sleeper. There really isn't much more to say about it. Definitely not a smart choice for Tommy Lee Jones. The movie just never really seems to have the laughs it could have and it never really... Full review

A no-nonsense Texas Ranger must protect five college cheerleaders who witnessed a murder. "Man of the House" is a very funny action-comedy with Tommy Lee Jones in top comedic form. I recommend this movie for everyone over age 15. Master director... Full review

I found this movie to be pretty funny and entertaning. I like Tommy Lee Jones as a actor in general, but I don't think he is made for comedy. I was surprised however by the great chemistry between Cedric and Tommy.... Full review

Taking a seasoned pro like Tommy Lee Jones and teaming him up with a group of young, scantily dressed cheerleaders who like to jiggle does give the film plenty of opportunity for fun and frivolity and, even though Herek once again fails to really get anything out of this potentially funny material, he does hit on a couple of not so bad moments. ... By the time the credits wrap, you've got the feel-good ending that provides the necessary closure, but doesn't leave you quoting any lines afterward. The entire (and entirely predictable) theme of the movie is that people can learn things from each other. ... Full Review

For the most part, the cheerleaders do a good job in the movie and never become so annoying that you want to shut it off. Man of the House does bring some laughs thanks to Tommy Lee Jones' ability to play the serious action hero no matter what the situation ... Full Review

In order that the divorced Jones can look his best when he has a date with a literary professor, his charges give him a makeover and instructions in the arts of love. It's a perfunctorily written comedy-thriller, with few jokes and no suspense, in which the workaholic Jones comes to appreciate the importance of being a cheerleader and the girls learn to take their academic studies more seriously. ... All the fooling is left to Cedric the Entertainer, who's been hired to ensure laughs while playing an ex-con turned preacher, the bubbly kind who crashes into furniture and tries to outdance the cheerleaders. There's no logical reason for his character to be here, beyond the suggestion that folks who like Tommy Lee Jones and those who like Cedric the Entertainer might not be the same people, thereby doubling the audience. ...
