When Sanjay Chhel's MAAN GAYE MUGHALL-E-AZAM releases on 22nd August, the audience will be privileged to witness a conglomerate of highly talented acting jewels like Rahul Bose, Paresh Rawal, Kay Kay Menon, Pawan Malhotra and Zakir Hussain.
A highly versatile actor, Zakir is very happy that the director Sanjay Chhel had faith in his acting abilities and dared to cast him in a role which is quite contrary to his screen image.

Maan Gaye Mughal-e-Azam could have been better if it had a more fine-tuned story, less muddled screenplay, fewer song distractions, restrained performances, crisper editing, competent direction...
Unfortunately, Maan Gaye Mughal-e-Azam misfires in its attempt.

Madhu Ambat has justified it well.....Though subject-wise the film looks absolutely okay, the film fails to sustain with the story flow and the way it's narrated to the audience.....The title track is a bit memorable though.....Sanjay Chhel, the writer, has proved his prowess well with films like 'Yes Boss' and 'Rangeela' but his directorial ability went under qualm after his disaster 'Maan Gaye.......Chhel has proved himself well with the witty dialogue and in the way of creating few humorous situations bu ... Sadly, even though there are some mind-blowing lines in this film, almost all are lost because the plot of the film fails to hold your interest beyond the eleventh minute.
But Haldi Hassan turns out to be a traitor and thus begins a series of misunderstandings that lead to a typical farcical ending.
