it's a respectable first film, and one....alas it does get boring.....A light-hearted comedy that looks inwards at the Parsi community in Mumbai, Little Zizou -....Even the Khodaji vs Pressvala conflict which is really intended as the heart of the film, because of what it stands for, is cinematically limp....Masand's Review of Gulaal Of the cast, it's Boman Irani as the affable, tango-loving Pressvala who delivers the film's most credible performance..... ... Whether you're familiar with Parsis or not, you should warm up to this film with its gentle humour and plea for peace -....But Zenobia Shroff is a delight too and the rest of the cast is engagingly real, discounting Ardeshir and Shernaz Patel (as his sidekick), whose characters are terribly camp..... ... Nevertheless you still leave the hall with a feel-good sentiment, thanks to the film's cheerful charm.....while sketching peculiar Parsi characters which aren't mere caricatures of the Dinesh Hingoo -....Sooni Taraporevala attempts to highlight the long existing internal dispute amongst the Parsi community between the fundamentalists and liberalists through this film.....is wonderful in both, comic and dramatic scenes.....goes theatrical in dramatic scenes..... ...
