Clint Eastwood told the film fantastically. Ken Watanabe was great as General Kuribayashi. The perspective of the Japanese was told great and you had a feeling that these soldiers were just like us. Struggling in life, missing their families. Great film... Full review

Being a World War 2 reenactor myself, this movie moves me unlike many other movies have. Its this rare film that shows it accuratly through the eyes of a soldier, not of the battle. But that is the beauty of this... Full review

Overall the movie was decent minus the mandatory "bad" American soldiers scene as they excute two POW's. Of course the scene was needed to keep a balance for the "Support the troops and not the war" crowd who need to see... Full review
