Of course, but Latifah carries the film with a fairly effortless charm so even when it dips into 80s style comedy trappings, the film is always at the very least pleasant.
What is aiming for a feel-good crowd pleaser, 'Last Holiday' gives Latifah a little breathing room for some sass, but mostly keeps her slightly inhibited to match her character, and there's uneven scenes of slapstick comedy balanced out with the kind of supporting characters, both supportive and antagonistic, that can only be found in fi ... Laramie Movie Scope:Last Holiday A nice balance between humor, romance and poignancy by Robert Roten, Film Critic
Casting Grard Depardieu as the chef is really perfect casting, since Depardieu really is a good cook (he's a restaurateur as well as an accomplished actor), and he obviously loves food.

The most amazing person ever to come to this hotel.

There's also quite a lot of footage of some spectacular ball playing (and not just the special effects kind focused on the magical Jerome).
However, that doesn't make it any less enjoyable as a family film, with positive lessons that serve young and old alike.
