I get emotional just thinking about this delightful film that takes us on a wondrous journey that is funny, overtly moving and uplifting.
The film is at once entertaining, heartwarming and thought provoking, hard to label and impossible to simplify - but really easy to enjoy.

See, Lars and the Real Girl is essentially just a creative approach at looking at the psychology of loneliness.
His best moments are actually in between the actual dialogue - you can see in his eyes that on one level he completely believe in Bianca.

This is a slow, gentle, delightfully unique and thoughtful movie which is strangely satisfying.

It is courageous filmmaking that dares navigate the line between sentimentality and absurdity.
There are certainly funny moments (the leading lady is a sex doll, after all), but the humor is always grounded by genuine affection for the psychologically wounded Lars, whose mother died in childbirth and who was left to be raised by a depressed and reclusive father.

Stop reading now, because there's almost nothing I can say about this movie that doesn't spoil the surprise.
Lars And The Real Girl is a delightful, offbeat love story about a small-town boy and a girl from the big city.
