Kites has a unique storyline and a dance based romance thriller. Its a bi-lingual film(English and Hindi). Hrithik is flamboyant and will be romancing both the Barbara and Kangana. His character is like a kite which wanders here and there but always flies high. Barbara Mori plays the character of a salsa dancer. The film is an intense love story with a lot of dancing involved. Kites is to be shot in New Mexico, Las Vegas and Los Angeles, scheduled to go into production by the end of July 2008.

In the harsh terrain of the Mexican desert, a mortally wounded man is left for dead in the heat of the desert sun. This is J (Hrithik Roshan) - once a street smart, carefree, young guy and now a wanted man.

The only thing that keeps him alive is the quest to find the love of his life, Natasha (Barbara Mori). A woman, engaged to another man, but surely destined for J. A woman, who comes into his life like a bolt of lightning, and changes it forever.

Kites is a story of love that goes beyond barriers, boundaries and cultures. It is a story of passion that defies every rule, of a relationship that takes two lovers on a thrilling journey filled with precious moments and unexpected betrayal.

Kites is a forthcoming Bollywood film to be directed by Anurag Basu, and produced by Rakesh Roshan that will star Hrithik Roshan, Barbara Mori, Kangana Ranaut and Luce Rains. The film is reportedly a high budget movie and has world rights valued at $25 million.
