FIRST PUBLISHED Oct 15, 2008 For a TV video series that's based on a collection of books solely designed to promote a line of dolls and accessories, the American Girl films are really quite good. ... With a screenplay adapted by Ann Peacock ( Kit Kittredge: An American Girl ) and John Romano ( The Third Miracle ), Wolfe wades through the crying and the "I'm sorry"-based dialogue -- there's a lot of apologizing in this movie -- well enough. And yes, it's the kind of movie where people have complex emotional conversations like that. ... Full Review

Kitt Kittredge: An American Girl is a solid, but unspectacular movie, warm in its familiarity, but lacking the style many expect in a family movie of today. But the movie's nostalgia also lends it a real sense of antiquity, and that's not really good. ... Full Review
