Kissing Jesica Stein was definetly shocking. Its a movie that takes its fair share of risks. Showing a side of gay that has not really been displayed in other movies. Not the best movie but its kinda shocking.... Full review

I thought the main character was very very annoying. I also did not like any of the characters. I did not get attached to any of them and the character development was very poor. The dialogue was torturous to sit through,... Full review

I'm not really sure what it was about this movie that failed to captivate me or inspire me or even entertain me. The story was reasonably creative, and the acting was not horrible, but the movie failed to click with me... Full review

A rare find in romantic comedy

I don't know how any one could reduce the characters in this film to, 'shallow' or 'board'. This was a rare film in the romantic comedy genre which didn't follow the tired old formulas. Yet it still has a classic... Full review

5 huge stars! "Kissing Jessica Stein" was the best movie I've ever seen it touched on a topic that is barely shown in movies, lesbianism. It showed a some what "prude", if you will, women that is not moving at a... Full review

This movie is so cute! Jessica Westfelt and Heather Jergensen are fabulous as the the leading ladies, who might i add, also wrote the fim. I could relate to both of these characters, and have literally walked in their shoes. I... Full review

I got free tickets to see the premiere of this film in 2001 and was lucky enough to see the two actresses interviewed afterwards. I really enjoyed it - I like the whole New York/Woody Allen feel. Fantastic soundtrack too... Full review

Kissing Jessica Stein keeps it simple and fresh In a very tactical move to keep the film respectable and true to its purpose When you get down to it, it is just a lovely, well-told romantic comedy. no actual sex scenes are shown ... Full Review

In total contrast, the heart-to-heart between Jessica and her mother (Tovah Feldshuh, stunning), jolts all our emotions, delivering the films most moving moment. The handling of serious issues is intelligently intertwined with the humour, and the snap-edited scenes where we meet Jessicas dates are beautifully executed. ... Full Review

This might actually mean that its not strictly a romantic comedy, in that the resolution is not a happy coupling (in fact, Jessicas potential choice, left open at films end, might even look a little painful... Even the breakdown of these issues comes in efficient dosesJessica talks about her stuff with her best friend at work, the happily pregnant Joan (Jackie Hoffman), and Helen chats with her two best friends, the gay couple Martin (Michael Mastro) and Sebastian (Carson Elrod); they helpfully (and rather ... Finally, and possibly most significant, I didn't find much in "Kissing Jessica Stein" very funny, which, of course, is neither here nor there because humor can be a very different thing to different people. OK, it happens; Jessica is feeling lonely, discouraged, and unfulfilled, so I won't quibble. ... Full Review

The best ones involve Jessicas mother, played by Tovah Feldshuh. I got a kick out of a scene where Jessicas mom tries to match her with a bigwig computer executive, knowing that Jessica hates computers. There are a lot of good scenes in the movie. ... Full Review
