Mili Avital is delightful as Samantha, the gal caught in the middle.
Bonnie Hunt brings the same disarming charm and presence to her role of the match-making publisher, whose lavish home is the setting for the nuptuals, as she did in Jerry Maguire, providing the glue that bonds the characters together, while offering the explanation of how it all began.

Ellin achieves a nice balance in tone and proportion in ``Kissing a Fool.
The screenplay by James Frey and director Doug Ellin is snappy and honest and provides some solid three-way confrontations near the end.

It's not without its problems however; the film often has trouble bridging plot point to plot point (either a script or editing shortcoming), and some of the characters' critical motivations seem out of left field.
