a realistic beautiful film with one of my fav. actors emraan hashmi. Emraan is a gambler, at start he plays small card games with his friends, then he meets sonal and tries to seduce her. So she asks for expensive things and to pay for these expensive tings, emraan starts big time gambling as he has no job and family is poor. He starts borrowing money from a loan shark and starts gambling with it on cricket matches. He then gets greedy and turns in to a bookie from which the police get track of him and he fleds the country. He goes to cape town with sonal, here he links with a underworld don who hires him to fix matches. He gets arrested and they bail him out. He then changes for abit and gets a proper job and keeps sonal happy. But his greed and addiction takes him back to match fixing and this was his last. The police see him with a gun his hand and he's on the run. They capture him with sonal and tell him to put his gun down. He does so but the ring falls out and he goes to pik it up and (the police thinkin he was goin for the gun)they shoot him dead. Later Sonal has her baby and another emraan is born again.

The second half of the film unfortunately focuses too much on the jaded romance and cuts a great story short. He delivers a fine punch to the bookie act, much unlike the debutant heroine who is colourless and flat. ... Full Review

Firstly the story by Vishesh Bhatt isnt well defined; Jannat is neither a movie on cricketers nor is it a love story. On the whole , Jannat is a poor tale from the Bhatt camp and its quite surprising that the camp that explores varying love stories such as Who Lamhe and Gangster and eventually convert them into massive hits ; fall flat in the process of gambling with a love story and encashing on the current cricket madness of the IPL. ...
