All in all, I would have given the film a solid B, but the ending of this mind-gaming thriller drops the smarts in exchange for action.
Despite the dip, the dialogue is mostly respectable.
Still, its powerful moments are indeed powerful.

Everyone just flat-out nailed their part in this film.
I thought that they put together a tacky first scene that needed some improvement.

As it is, Insomnia stands as an incredible remake of an already well received film that manages to stand on its own feet and make a unique and lasting impression due to a good script, incredible performances and stylistically unique directing.
The slightly washed and worn feel of the film is captured nicely with nothing looking too bright or clean.
