Nolan's worst (thus far, and I haven't seen Following) but that's not a detriment against it. The story appears generic and straight-forward, but has some great depth to it and is always involving and interesting. Williams is terrific and Pacino drives... Full review

for those who never saw the original, this is a satisfying, well-executed thriller with Nolan's distinctive touch.....the supporting cast is strong, with Hilary Swank as the rookie who idolizes Dormer and Maura Tierney , criminally underused....Nolan does a great job showing Dormer start to crack, tormented by his conscience and the relentless midnight sun.....But the new 1080p transfer does look beautiful, highlighting Nolan's fine eye (helped along by master cinematographer Wally Pfister)..... ... All in all, I would have given the film a solid B, but the ending of this mind-gaming thriller drops the smarts in exchange for action. Despite the dip, the dialogue is mostly respectable. Still, its powerful moments are indeed powerful. ... Full Review
