the film's depiction of lesbian romance was too chaste (Luce and Rachel share only two onscreen kisses).....These criticisms of Imagine Me & You seem to be based on the assumption.... ... Full Review

A truly good film.
In actuality, this is not a bad film.
Obviously, this is a film that will resonate with the lesbian community but don't let that deter you from watching a sensible film with great acting.

IMAGINE ME AND YOU is a worthy addition to this pantheon.
In this way, Imagine You and Me avoids the unrealistic plot devices and gimmicks of other romantic comedies and creates a realistic world in which we'd all like to live -- full of compassion, comedy, flirting, and charm.

Some of the dialogue is quite smart, it's attractive to look at, the North London settings are well-shot and all that sort of stuff.
This is pretty slight but enjoyable stuff.

Disgustingly predictable since it patches story lines from dozens of other films we've already seen, Imagine Me & You flops badly, serving only as a 94-minute time-waster if you are content with cinematic mush.
It's not until we begin watching that we realize that the project is more appropriate for television to take advantage of its lack of character development and shallowness.
