there could have been a good movie here.....There's even a run-in with a rabid raccoon, which arguably gives the film's best performance.....they're almost always accompanied by slow piano music.....it's essentially a series a rip-offs of other, usually much better, teen flicks..... ... Full Review

I, however, can state that I enjoyed the film.....If you liked the trailers then you will pretty much enjoy the entire film.....It has great lines, great characters, great moments and the enjoyability factor is surprisingly good....I thought it was classic high school dork loving high school hottie.....One of my favorite moments is when Beth picks up the Suzie Q#39;s and says yum and Denis says his mother says that..... ... While they all deliver solid performances, they still ended up as flat characters in a bad movie....Each character is exacerbated, yet not enough to be a full-on caricature, which would have made the movie slightly more tolerable..... ... Full Review

The movie has three or four good laughs.....I knew that the on-the-way film adaptation would be thorny.....it is not merely thorny;....It's a heartbreaking, truthful scene in the middle of a lot of silliness.....I think it's a bit better than our Peter Martin lets on , and certainly better than our Eric D. Snider insists ..... ... Full Review

The film is largely hampered by an indecisive tone.....it is a chasm this film fails to jump.....A flat, tired rehash of teen movie story tropes, the film attempts to have it both ways by winkingly acknowledging its secondhand origins..... ... Full Review

It's easy to hate this movie.....I Love You, Beth Cooper" would like to be this year's "Superbad," a raucous teen sex comedy.....The film occasionally stumbles upon the quick tempo needed to sustain this kind of mindless comedy.....Give Panettiere props for trying to make the role work despite the film being such a hopeless cause.....There's a script that comes across like pieced-together letters to Penthouse magazine, misguided direction.... ... Beth Cooper lacks the ingridients necessary to make a movie, good or bad.....Given the right (or wrong) film, Kevin can make the experience somewhat enjoyable..... ... Full Review

this film does not make the outstanding category....The tension results not from the guitar-strumming vocalist in mortarboard who's performing a laughably inappropriate song about forgetting....As a director, Chris Columbus has been responsible for some outstandingly entertaining motion pictures, including Home Alone , Mrs. Doubtfire , and the first two Harry Potter movies.....The movie actually shows early promise in that its opening scene is a certified hoot.....A pimply-faced Rich suggests it might be fu ...
