Story is just family drama but with the songs, acting and the nice general family feeling, this movie is good to watch. One of the super duper hits. Same genre as Manie Pyar Kiya and DDLJ. Nice songs.

Nice romantic movie

A classic film of 2 lovers, madhuri and sallu in lead roles. The movie resembles bewafaa. Basically maduri and sallu start loving each other during the engagement, wedding and relations between both their families. Her sister and brother are geting maried. More then half the film is about their secret love on the side, the marriage between the siser and brother and all the wedding procrssions that go on like music, dancing, games etc. After the intermission maduri's sister has a baby, the sister eventually dies after falling down a flight of stairs (over exaggerated part), so maduri takes the responsibility of marrying the widowed husband so the baby doesn't lack the love of a mother. But the husband comes to kno of her love with sallu and tells her to marry him, this is wat her sister wanted. The film contains some super gaana's that are still listened to in weddings etc.
