In this final stretch, the film does its best to humanize the Iraqi dictator, but after everything we've seen so far, it actually feels more disturbing than the horror of ambition and delusion that preceded it. The cast can take a good deal of credit for this - while some reviewers were clearly expecting a Dallas on the Euphrates, the performances of Naor, Arditti and Aghdashloo as well as the rest of the cast make things less lurid than vivid. ...
