I'll have to agree with the other reviewers. This movie is pretty bad. You can see the director trying to move the audience, but everything's just so implausible. Maybe all these A+'s are all Duchovany fans.... Full review

David Duchovny is really talented. This movie really helps you see what the 13-year old boy was going through. It shows that David Duchovny really can write and direct. This is a very heart-warming story, and you should go see it!... Full review

After leaving the series, the 47-year-old father of two directed the 2005 movie The House Of D, which bombed at the box office and received mediocre reviews. In fact, Duchovny maintains that he's most proud of The X-Files series for tackling almost every style. ... Full Review

David Duchovny wrote and directed "House of D" with little sense that he knew how heavy-handed it would play. Never as egregiously offensive as the worst movies, "House of D" can wear you down with its sappy sentiments because they're so synthetic. ... Full Review

It's easy to like the movie....House of D (97 minutes, at area theaters) is rated PG-13 for moderate profanity and smutty adolescent humor.....Duchovny's writing isn't exactly dumb;....Duchovny desperately wants to keep a light tone....But it's hard to enjoy what writer-director-star David Duchovny has actually made of "House of D." Apparently the "X Files" guy has a thing for cosmic coincidence.... ... Full Review
