Wow, compared to the first movie, House 2 is downright awful. It has nothing to do with the first movie, has no horror in it, and downright sucks. Don't waste your time.... Full review

2 stars is a stretch, but I liked the scene where the evil guy gets his head blown off when I was a kid. It was one of those classic scenes that turned me on to horror. This movie generally sucks,... Full review

Obviously a film like this is destined to have a fanbase. While I absolutely found it truly awe-inspiringly dreadful, that same feeling I had as I sat through it will be a reverse for those who love absolute trash which is... Full review

Fun, campy 1980s horror/comedy/western.

This film is a fun, under-watched gem from the 80s. Fans of the first House have a lot to enjoy here. Certainly one of the only horror/comedy/westerns I can think of, but it works well in this picture. Don't expect Citizen... Full review
Great Sequel

Shawn Watson - imdb.com
This non-related sequel is so sweet-natured, so tame and family orientated that to assume otherwise is completely ludicrous. There is nothing in this movie that could possibly rate it above a PG, max. I wouldn't even have reservations letting younger children... Full review
* MINOR SPOILERS FOLLOW * Others have panned this one as "forced" and "stupid." I could not disagree more! I absolutely loathed the original 'House' movie, and found the second one to be a wonderful mix of Quality Silly and pretty... Full review

Fortunately for anyone forking out the cash for this set, House is one of those that succeeds. If House is a progenitor to horror/comedies like Evil Dead II , then House 2 is closer to a manic, light-hearted adventure along the lines of Army of Darkness . ... Full Review

The horror-comedy formula that kept the original film's shaky premise afloat is far less functional here Still, the film has some clever moments, mainly from Dano, who makes the most of his difficult character by adding a cartoonish flair, and from Cheers alum John Ratzenberger's amusing cameo turn as a plumber strangely accustomed to cross-dimensional travel. ... The movie was entertaining....However, at many times, things broke down to genuine silliness and the overly cheap effects and Play-Do looking monsters hurt the film....s story was strong enough to have made for a good film....John Ratzenberger was incredible in his cameo role of Bill..... ... In that regard, I thought that House 2 was moderately enjoyable. It has virtually no pretensions to depth or drama, which may sound like a criticism, but the film really works better because it lacks much substance. Its a silly and thin plot ... Full Review
