Along with Winslet's outstanding performance was Melanie Lynskey's as the girl she was in love with, also in her first film.
The girls (Melanie Lynskey and Kate Winslet) live in a fantasy world that Jackson constructs out of people that seem like puppets and dolls, mud people who appreciate that these...

Favorite Movie Quote: "Only the best people fight against all obstacles in pursuit of happiness.
Credit has to go to the brilliant cinematography, the lavish sets, the captivating score and a soundtrack that was superb, with Mario Lanza's incomparable tenor voice.

The next best thing about the film is Kate Winslet.

It is the single best film in Jackson's filmography, and a compliment to New Zealand cinema.
I strongly believe that Heavenly Creatures is a horror film, even if it is on the fringe of this grouping.
Winslet, in her breakout role, is perfection.
