I'll start out by saying that the rather funny basic idea behind "Heart condition" is certainly excellent. Chubby and short Caucasian bum cop gets the heart of a black lawyer ha hates and has to deal with his ghost. Unfortunately... Full review

Written and directed by James D. Parriott, the film is caught somewhere between seriousness and cheesy exploitation. " Heart Condition," the terminally contrived new comedy starring Bob Hoskins and Denzel Washington, is another entry in the burgeoning Who Thinks Up These Things Department. ... Full Review

And things turn quite dark as the film heads toward a violent conclusion. It is nonetheless a disappointing, irritating misfire from Steve Tisch, the producer of another semi-comic anti-racism fable, "Soul Man," and writer-director James D. Parriott in his big-screen debut. ... Full Review

Bob Hoskins and Denzel Washington are simply marvelous in the hugely entertaining Heart Condition , a comedy that isn't likely to knock your socks off but is amiable enough during most of its running time to please. You can't fake acting magic like this, and it elevates a film that's decently written but not much more into something any thespian-loving filmgoer can adore. ... Full Review
