One of the most under appreciated movies. A little bit of true history intertwined with a great romance. Wonderful characters.... Full review

Not accurate except that batista was a dictator much like castro was and is. Sympathetic to Castro , *robert redford* visited cuba and consulted him on this movie. which is a very bad source, considering he has been in rule 40... Full review

But "Havana," directed by the usually reliable Sydney Pollack -....is a surprisingly tepid, flabby, overwrought romantic melodrama that may leave you dozing before its 21/2 hours are up.....Pollack's direction is lush and finely detailed....the end as seedy gambler Robert Redford confronts casino-operator Alan Arkin, you almost expect him to say something about this being the beginning of a beautiful friendship.....Olin is also good.... ...
