a good film, but one....Stunning special effects, performances by a who's who of British acting talent, eccentric new characters, lots of action, plenty of tension.... ... Full Review

I think it would be a much better movie had it been more intense.....Overall, I believe that this was one of the better movies produced in the Harry Potter series.....The production of the movie was very timely.....the plot did seem very simple..... ... Full Review

Yates, and the young persons he gets to play Riddle in these memories (one of them being Hero Fiennes-Tiffin, relative of Ralph Fiennes), make these scenes easily the best of the film.....This is easily the least likeable Potter film since the overblown and dull first one (Sorcerer's Stone)..... ... director that the movie is strong enough to rely on the plot.....But it shows off the talent of the writers, actors....Harry Potter and the Half-Blood Prince Harry Potter and The Half-Blood Prince is the best Harry Potter movie yet;....In the first film or two, much of what made the movie enjoyable was the landscape Hogwarts was set on.... ... Magical world of 'Harry Potter' grows darker, more ominous....Unfortunately, this is not so evidently the simple case with "Harry Potter and the Half-Blood Prince.....Though I may not have found this "Harry Potter" to be riveting, I acknowledge....critics and audiences alike should be able to enjoy a film without having to extensively read the source material.....A good movie should be a complete stand-alone experience, one that could be enjoyed and understood by the uninitiated..... ... In fact, the movie is to be praised for how well it has streamlined....The relationship troubles between the teenage characters are handled with great humor....Harry Potter and the Half-Blood Prince" has so far been a critical success, with reviewers commending the casts' acting as well as the film's beautiful cinematography.....The scene where the whole of Hogwarts raises their wands in tribute of their fallen headmaster is also spectacular in its simplicity.....The said chase scene is however beautifully ... It leaves the film feeling anti-climactic and overtly depressing.....It's a great opening scene.....The immediate example that springs to mind is the film's penultimate scene involving Professor Dumbledore and the mischief within the walls of Hogwarts.....So as I burned through the books (waiting eagerly at midnight book parties for each new chapter in the saga to drop) I began noticing the incredibly dark and dangerous direction the story was headed..... ... the movies that precede 'Harry Potter and the Half-Blood Prince' still might be able to enjoy the movie.....There are a few instances of graphic violence and some menacing computer-enerated images.....But they won't enjoy the movie as much as faithful Harry Potter fans.....The actors do a good job of making their characters believable..... ...
