For children who haven't seen the Hollywood Home Alone series, Hari Puttar might be enjoyable.
The mish mash of films that inspired Lucky Kohli and Rajesh Bajaj's Hari Puttar, has dialogues that are contrived and a screenplay that is unoriginal and unimaginative.

Sarika is trying too hard to act like a Punjabi housewife- an act that falls flat.

The animated Hari who appears sporadically is better than the real one.
Using the plot from the 1990 Chris Columbus film and obviously ripping off the Harry Potter name, 'Hari Puttar-A Comedy of Terrors' is not likely to appeal to anyone, and certainly not to kids who are exposed to much better cinema.

Hari Puttar suddenly feels unwanted, undermined, and unappreciated.
Hari gets thrown out of his room to accommodate the girls, he is also ragged and ridiculed by all the other kids for being too naïve.
Overall Hari Puttar is a weak product.

But Hari Puttar - A Comedy Of Terrors is an amateurish attempt all the way.
As for Jackie Shroff, the less said the better.

It's here, in the second half, that the film really picks up and evokes peals of laughter, as the bumbling baddies end up bruised, battered and Hari weary.
Then, it's a full blown war to save a microchip, that has national importance, from the goons (Saurabh Shukla, Vijay Raaz).

Actress Sarika, who plays Hari Puttars mother in the film, loved the lifesize cartoon figure of Hari Puttar and was eager to enjoy the the film.
Child actor Zain Khan, who plays Hari Puttar, was excited and eager to see himself on the big screen along with his family.
