Director Joshua Seftel stages action well - Cusack's killer moves are credible and the explosions are properly horrifying - and helms a lot of very funny moments, though occasionally both script and director hit jokes too hard. Grosse Pointe Blank reflects the audacity he favors and the ideas he trusts.....At 31, this unfairly neglected actor has given at least four performances to put him in the front ranks of his profession.....The decision here to save dad pits Martin against his archrival, Grocer, played with twinkling menace by Dan Aykroyd, in a gunfight at dad's mansion..... ... It's not long, though, before "Grosse Pointe Blank" starts turning patchy and dull. Like a snake, he's slipped out of his lustrous bad old skin and left it behind, and by that point, "Grosse Pointe Blank" has deflated itself, and us too. ... Full Review
