"Ginger Snaps" was a text-book study in how films shouldn't be made. While I have to admit the visuals were rather cunning, it gave away too much of the plot early on and was, shall we say, particulary vile in it's... Full review

Although I am a huge fan of the Ginger Snaps franchise, I was disappointed with both the sequel and its DVD.
Starting off beautifully after Ginger Snaps, we see Brigette (Emily Perkins), Ginger's sister, whom infected herself at the end of the first film in order to stop Ginger (Katharine Isabelle) from unleashing her terror as a werewolf onto the world, taking shots of "wolfsbane" in order to subdue the effects of her transformation.

The film succeeds for many different reasons....this isn't so much a werewolf movie as it is a crazy tale of teenagers growing up.....The puberty angle in this film is certainly interesting....one of those is the fantastic script by Karen Walton.....The film, although definitely treading the water of countless other werewolf pics, actually becomes soothingly original because of this terrific story point..... ... The original's take on lycanthropy and feminine coming of age was called "the best teenage werewolf movie ever made" by the San Francisco Chronicle, and has transcended its low budget status to be considered a modern-day cult horror film.
With Ginger now dead, Brigette Fitzgerald (played by Emily Perkins in the original) is on the run from the Canadian suburb of Bailey Downs.
