What an amply confusing film!
Definitely Murder and Gangster were better efforts of Basu's.
That way we didn't have to waste time watching characters go through an entire song doing nothing much!

The Music is the highlight of the film.....Ya Ali" sung by yet another newcomer Zubeen from Assam has that force that is much needed for the slow moving movie.....balconies to shoot his intimate scenes that has been evident right from Murder and also in Gangster.....James, the Bangladeshi singer and his band who has sung "Bheegi Bheegi" is just fantastic.... ... I went in and watched the latest and greatest movie as you had askkk...
Now that I think of it, maybe the idea and manner in which the movie opened was good, but the execution was a bit loose to grab the attention of hardcore movie fanatics like me and movie Gods like you.

The opening sequence is an intriguing peg, and from there, with its smooth and intriguing narrative technique of flashbacks intercut with the present, the story of Gangster unfolds in flashback.
Romance, Drama and a wicked twist in an engrossing taleĀ are the key parts of a hugely satisfying whole that is Gangster.

The title Gangster may give an impression that it's a violent film.
On the whole, Gangster is one of the finest films to hit the screens this year.
Gulshan Grover is exceptional in a small role.
