This film is really geared for those who love baseball or more specifically the Red Sox. The plot is interesting enough to keep viewing to the somewhat surprising end. The acting, writing, and direction are all well done.... Full review

It sucked. I gave it a D+. It achieved the "+" only because it featured the 1986 Boston Red Sox. The dialog was painful, the acting was fine, but the dialog was painful. I'm amazed I got through it alive.... Full review

Celebrated author Don DeLillo taps the metaphorical implications of that ill-fated game in his script for the aptly titled Game 6 . DeLillo's dialogue, while witty and finely honed, is steeped in a literary tradition that feels further confined by Michael Hoffman's stagy direction. ... Full Review

As a result, "Game 6" is a mediocre to average movie with a stellar performance by Keaton and cerebral themes about failure and fears that stay fuzzy instead of coming into sharp focus. Game 6" plays out in a single day as Nicky hops into a series of cabs -- and reminisces about his 12-hour shifts at the wheel years ago -- and spends time with his mistress, daughter, elderly father, angry wife and a friend and fellow writer (Griffin Dunne) whose creativity was killed by a Schwimmer pan. ... Even so, the cast may well receive extra money if the movie is sufficiently profitable, said Hoffman. The minibudget film focuses on New York playwright Nicky Rogan (Keaton) and his anguished decision whether to attend the premiere of his Broadway show or watch fateful Game 6 of the 1986 World Series between the New York Mets and Boston Red Sox.The baseball game in question saw Boston, one out away from winning its first World Series since 1918, squander a two-run lead with two outs in the 10th inning, los ...
