It's difficult to imagine what was in Judd Apatow's mind. A serious comedy of sorts? Adam Sandler is at the center of the confused attempt. He's better than he's ever been in a part that is, quite frankly, disagreeable to say... Full review

The only thing this movie has in common with other Apatow movies is the cast. When I first heard about this movie, I was excited. "Sweet! Apatow movies are always great, and look at the cast! This is gonna be a... Full review

I really enjoyed the first half of Funny People. I don't think I've ever seen any other Adam Sandler flicks (I didn't want to), so I was happily surprised by the good mix of comedy and drama here. As soon as... Full review

Adam Sandler is the biggest nothing that ever was. It is disheartening that American audiences continue to support this loser. It is is one character/one voice/one joke repertoire which annoys me. It is simply astonishing that his name is even part... Full review

And when I rate this a 1 out of 10, I mean it. This might be the worst movie I have ever seen. Even from the get-go, the opening credits sequence displays real-life group of friends making crank calls...and I couldn't... Full review

I'll start by saying that I am a Judd Apatow fan. I've loved most of his movies, including the two previous movies he's directed, The 40-Year-Old Virgin and Knocked Up. I've seen each many times, and they are two of my... Full review

I sit here, and wonder how anyone actually could have liked this movie. I'm a pretty easy movie critic, I like any movie that can give me some comedic relief or good action. This movie was plain awful. First - Adam... Full review

This overlong and often incoherent project has some "moments" but Apatow, a clever writer, really needed a competent film editor and perhaps more important, a Director. There's probably an hour of solid entertainment here, superbly photographed, tangled away in this three-hour potty-mouth display of "insider" self-indulgence. Tellingly, everybody in our half-filled theater - all ages - bolted for the exits - literally - even as the camera was zooming back from the final scene and before the final titles rolled, after this chaos masquerading as a movie finally reached its O. Henry surprise ending -- just as you begin to believe this mishmash will never end, it DOES.
