Funny About Love" is all over the place and nowhere at all, a meandering, meaningless farce, an insubstantial look at a serious subject.
Wilder, as an infantile political cartoonist, and Lahti, playing a chef who specializes in jicama and free-range chickens, fall blissfully in love, try to have a baby, break up, then get back together again after he has an affair with an insatiable coed (Masterson).

First, he woos the wonderful Christine Lahti in double quick time; then, when she has failed to reproduce and been put aside, he turns to the young, spunky Masterson.
As interminably cute as its title suggests, Nimoy's film strains for a sophisticated view of adult relationships, while in reality taking the director's obsession with babies to new depths.
