Astounding acting by Langella
Feb 01, 2009

I went to this movie expecting a typical caricature of Nixon and came away tremendously impressed with the mannerisms, speech and bearing that Frank Langella captured. Very emotional at the end. Nixon had shrunk but became more human as he walked... Full review
A Solid Film That Will Fade Into the Background

Frost/Nixon was indeed a good movie but the question is "will it stand the test of time?". I seriously doubt it. The performances are admirable and the writing is very good but I was not overly impressed compared to other movies... Full review

Connie FINALLY A MOVIE FOR GROWN UPS

I enjoyed this film. Even though you already know how it is going to end it is still amazing to see all the behind the scenes drama that went into getting Nixon to sit down with Frost. This movie is relevant especially now when Americans are re-examining what characteristics they value in their president. After too many animated films, chick flicks and fantasy films finally there's a movie for those of us who enjoy political intrigue without having it sugar coated or degenerating to left wing and right wing bashing. This movie reminds one of a prize fight with Frost playing the underdog. Frank Langella and Michael Sheen give masterful performances as Nixon and Frost respectively. Langella's facial expressions vividly portray Nixon's arrogance and then later surprise and dismay when he realizes what he has got himself into. Nixon assumed that by picking a little known British journalist he would be able to dodge questions and come out looking like a great president and Frost wanted to make a name for himself as a serious journalist. Forget Couric/Palin, If you want to see real 'gotcha' journalism then this is the movie to watch.

I went to this movie thinking it would be interesting, and it was okay. Maybe if you're more interested in Watergate you'll like it more. Even though Frank Langella doesn't really LOOK like Nixon, he captures his demeanor really well I think, and I like that the movie focuses on the AFTERMATH of the Watergate scandal more than Watergate itself.
amandaeshank it was o.k.

It was o.k. I guess that I am just not much of a history buff but Frank Langella did a great job in the role of nixon. It was a bit too dark of a movie for me
joker420 Political movie hits the big screen

I thought this movie was decent. I know some things about history, but i am more into the whole action movie than the politics. The story line made sense to me with what i had learned about The Watergate Scandal. They could have done a little better with making it a little more interesting. They tried, but it seemed a little extreme when you think about the time period when it happened. The facts were off and it made me enjoy the movie less. The movie should have made Nixon look worse than he was. He was stealing money as the president of the United States. We don't make movies showing Jeffrey Dahmer being a boyscout and helping old ladies across the street. Instead of people actually knowing how everything took place then, the writers took a real event and made parts fictional. To me i dont think this movie was worth watching. I lot interest soon after the credits.

What a...really bad movie. While I do like most of Ron Howard's other films, this one I think was just way off the mark. Frank Langella was a bit interesting in playing the role of Nixon, but for the most part? I wouldn't care to watch this movie again. And I'm not really a Kevin Bacon fan either so...I think this about seals up the whole movie for me. Anthony Hopkins did a better job at playing Nixon anyways.
