The film's best and least fussy scene brings these two together in an uninterrupted take.....Price's screenplay struggles to corral 546 pages of plot.....She is excellent.....First-rate actors bail out second-rate directors all the time....As for director Roth, he is a successful producer who directs like a producer learning to be a director..... ... half a good movie is better than none....While not as bad as Kranks , Freedomland falters too much to be regarded as anything more than a lumbering disappointment.....Overall, the flick seemed crisp and detailed.....For one, the movie becomes painfully chatty.....very good picture and audio.... ... Julianne Moore's performance is the most interesting aspect of the film....It began as a moody, dark thriller....Roth contributes considerably to the film's downfall.....the characters have ceased to exist as people and the plot has become the writer's arbitrary whim rather than a living story..... ...
