It makes fun of Oscar hype! I LOVE THIS MOVIE! It was a lot of fun because Guest's mockumentary style was toned down, and it was necessary to do that for this film for people to notice it in a more... Full review
Christopher Guest does it again.

Once again, Christopher Guest has done it again. This time the film is not so much a mockumentary, but a linear comedy with adlibbing. The brilliant Fred Willard and Catharine O'Hara shine and are true to form. Guest once again assumes... Full review

Christopher Guest does it again. This film does not feel like the documentary style that he has done his last three films Best in Show, Waiting for Guffman and A Mighty Wind. This is definately one of the funniest films I... Full review

Let's face it - this is not Guest's best work, but it is better than virtually every comedy that comes out these days. I concur with an earlier reviewer on this point! The performances were, as usual, amazing. Also, to the... Full review

Christopher Guest....and Catherine O'Hara, and Parker Posey, and the entire cast of "For Your Consideration"...a dead on satire/parody of what happens to Hollywood actors when they become "it". A little movie, "Home for Purim" has generated an "Oscar buzz", and one... Full review

I swear I heard crickets after just about every attempted punchline. There is no denying For Your Consideration is loaded with proven comic talent, but how they all wound up barely producing a chuckle in this film is the equivalent of... Full review

Reading the poor reviews, it is obvious they are from types that need stuff to 'blow up'in a movie before they are satisfied. This movie is for those who understand what is being done.... Full review

This movie is as horrible as the farcical movie which it attempts to depict within the film. A complete waste of time and money, amazing that anyone would fund the creation of such a ridiculously unfunny movie, and have the nerve... Full review

From beginning to end this movie was just simply awful and unfunny. It was a unanamous verdict of the four of us who sat through this mess and all wanted to find the manager to get our money back.... Full review

That's not to say that For Your Consideration is not funny, biting, cutting and satirical. On the acting front, there's the wonderful Catherine O'Hara as the ageing actress playing the dying matriarch and Parker Posey as the actress portraying the rebellious lesbian daughter. ... Full Review

That's not to say that For Your Consideration is not funny, biting, cutting and satirical. The usual suspects inhabit Guest's film, the troupe now a well oiled movie machine that can nuance anything from a duck to a tank, from a heartbreak to a commercial break. ... Full Review

The comedy is subtle, yet biting, and comes less from the lines that are delivered than from the way the characters deliver them.....Christopher Guest#39;s film centers around an independent film production company, Sunfish Classics, and their current work in  progress, "Home for Purim".....But the real melodrama occurs in the real world of corporate suits, frustrated writers, slick-as-oil agents, and know-nothing producers..... ... Unfortunately, Guest stretched himself a little thin this time, as "For Your Consideration" is not quite up to his usual standards. And from there the situation gets quickly out of hand, with the buzz affecting everyone's head, the publicists going bananas with it, and the producers deciding they have to change things--tone down the gay and Jewish angles--to make the film more commercially acceptable to a wider market. ...
