Shahana Goswami post Rock On delivers yet another award worthy performance.....Lastly, there are the stories of other hapless Muslims, who make incompetent plots to take revenge.....Despite choosing such a heavy subject in her directorial debut film, actress Nandita Das has succeeded in handling it with utmost sensitivity and technical finesse.....Paresh Rawal in a serious role after a long time is a treat to watch.....ensemble cast of talented actors which take the film to a completely different level..... ... Firaaq is worth a watch for simply....while the other two suffer on account of weak and hurried writing....Firaaq is a strong yet incomplete statement about the Gujarat riots.....Firaaq , however, could have worked wonders with some more convincing writing and a quicker pace.....What takes you through though is the acting, and more importantly the brilliant casting..... ... Ravi K Chandran's brilliant camera-work gives the film a raw, gritty character that elevates even the most mundane scene.....Nandita Das certainly gives us reason to celebrate with this film.....Though there are some heavy-handed scenes and characters, Firaaq scores in its overall restraint.....And Sreekar Prasad's editing keeps the film taut and tense..... ...
