He thinks Nicky ought to get wise to himself and realize that a guy from Federal Hill and a girl from Brown just don't mix.
Maybe Corrente, who is drawing here from his own upbringing, was too close to his material to recognize what was missing; or perhaps his talents simply haven't fully matured.

Regardless, despite a solidly-constructed story line, Federal Hill is among the least innovative or interesting American independent films to come along this year.
This is certainly due in large part to a script that is more concerned with a story than with those the story is about, but the weak (and largely inexperienced) cast cannot be completely absolved.
