Not at all, and I might have liked it more had it come out before Enemy of the State, because it does have some exciting moments of its own. Whereas Enemy, which starred Will Smith and Gene Hackman, was fresher, more credible, and a sophisticated thriller for adults, Eagle Eye functions more as escapist entertainment for the MTV crowd. ... Enemy of the State was always a neatly constructed thriller - in the post September 11 world it's taken on extra bite. Still, this is juicy stuff with Smith convincing as the lawyer who doesn't know he holds the key to a massive cover-up and Hackman even better in a role linked to the surveillance expert he played in Coppola's film. ...
