Super Good Films, the successful film production house in the south, ably steered by R.B.Choudry, who has a great intuition for spotting successful projects and Directors, is doing the film with Jeeva as the hero. Choudry was impressed by the story narrated by S.P.Jhananathan, the successful National award-winning Director of the film, Iyarkai . The film Iyarkai ,won a lot of good critical reviews, even though, it did not do well in the box office. Jhananathan, has kept this aspect in mind and is preparing this movie, so that it could do well in the box office too. Jeeva, after two good movies - Ram and Dishoom , wants to take his career on an upward curve. He is putting up a good performance in this movie. Nayanthara, after pairing with top heroes in the industry, wants to prove herself in the competitive industry. Jeeva plays the angry young man, Eswaran (abbreviated as E) and Nayanthara plays the bar dancer from Mumbai. The plot is about the people belonging to the lower strata of the society. The action scenes are blended well with the emotional drama to produce a tasty treat. Srikanth Deva has scored some good tunes, while the cameraman, Ekambaram, who did a good work in Iyarkai , has again produced a commendable performance. The movie, according to reports is handling a burning issue and it is sure to touch an inner chord in the heart of the masses.

The movie revolves around E alias (Easwaran), an orphan brought up in the musty, teeming slums of Chennai by an old woman. For him money is the thing in life, he does anything for that. He Comes across Jothy (Nayantara), a bar dancer, who settles down in the same locality. After a few encounters they get acquainted with each other. E's simple ways attract Jothy. Coming to know of his past, Jothy tries desperate to correct his ways and set him on the right path. Meanwhile Dr Ramakrishnan (Ashish Vidyarthi) takes up the task of testing a medicine devised by a foreign company, which may come handy in killing people in thousands especially during times of wars. Dr Ramakrishnan chooses Jothy's sister and E's grandmother as specimen for the test. He cashes in on the ignorance to slum-dwellers. Things take a turn, when E rescues Dr Ramakrishnan from a murder bid by Nellai Mani (Pasupathy). A sequence of events brings Nellai Mani and E together. Without knowing his motive, E hides him in a secret place and decides to hand him over to Dr Ramakrishnan for a huge sum. Slowly E gets attracted by good ways of Nellai Mani. Through him, E comes to know of Ramakrishnan's ulterior motives. Nellai Mani, a revolutionary fighting for a cause, tries to bring about a change in E's heart. Succeeding in his attempt, Nellai Mani lays down his life leaving E to complete his task. The rest is all about E's show all the way in putting an end to Ramakrishnan and his evil ways.
