the most intriguing failures of an auteur director....Probably Tarantino's most problematic film is his most recent, "Death Proof.....don't like Tarantino's films....Old Roger Corman pictures used to suffer this same problem, with Corman often stepping in for an insufficient director.....its tightly edited, concise and ominous first act.... ... The Sound Death Proof comes with a strong....Due to the artistic choices of the director, this is not a film that is ever going to look like optimal HD.....a clean, pristine and sharp transfer of Death Proof....good use for ambience and sound effects.... ... Full Review

But if Tarantino has too much fanboy dialogue DEATH PROOF 's tank, his ability to pull songs and scores from the flicks he loves is in first gear.
If anything, DEATH PROOF begs for more music to energize it, especially when the choices here (nicely abetted by Tarantino's music supervisor Mary Ramos) are picked with his usual flair for the obscure and interesting.

Pumped up on pulp, Tarantino goes to a lot of trouble to supposedly pay homage to the exploitation movies of old, which used left over film stock and carefree splicing to deliver cheap movie thrills to frustrated teenagers on Saturday afternoons.
The problem for Tarantino in Death Proof is that the girl talk that occupies so much of the running time is anything but true to the culture 50 years ago.

Even in expanded, stand-alone form, it still retains the self-pleasing, throwaway air of the shorter cut that made up the second half of 2007's greatest lost movie (at least to UK viewers), Grindhouse.
As self-pleasing throwaways go, though, Death Proof is an utter blast: sexy, spunky and uproarious.

viciously kill him out of revenge.I absolutely loved Death Proof.....I can see why some men don't like the movie....My second favorite scene is when she gets thrown of the hood into a ditch and her two friends are crying, assuming she is dead.....And my favorite death scene is when the second set of girls kick Stuntman Mikes ass..... ...
