Neeson's performance in Taken is by far the film's strongest element, precisely....Raimi has a lot of fun with Neeson as emo vigilante-in one scene, Peyton's frustration grows so extreme....smaller sequences of Peyton disguising himself to fuck with his enemies are more satisfying than the big rooftop-and-helicopter chase in the finale..... ... Of course, the film also has woefully misguided acting choices, poorly-timed action sequences, ridiculous dialogue and other bad movie staples. But the fact that such goofy material is dealt with so seriously creates a unique kind of tension, and it's this tension that makes "Darkman," and so many other bad movies, as enjoyable as it is. ...
