Of course, the film also has woefully misguided acting choices, poorly-timed action sequences, ridiculous dialogue and other bad movie staples.
But the fact that such goofy material is dealt with so seriously creates a unique kind of tension, and it's this tension that makes "Darkman," and so many other bad movies, as enjoyable as it is.
