The moody atmosphere and creepy imagery are unforgettable, especially the cadre of villainous overseers. Rufus Sewell makes an ideal troubled protagonist. I wish that he'd been cast as Sirius Black in the Harry Potter movies.... Full review

But Alex Proyas turns the hand-me-down ideas into interesting scenes.....Dark City was a quirky anomaly when new....William Hurt is typically precise;....I think he'd be fascinated by the film's paranoid vision of a reality being constantly tweaked and tuned by humorless super-beings.....He shows enough taste not to allow dazzling visuals take over completely;.... ...
