The concept and ideology of this film were truly amazing....Another major screenplay flaw was the fact that the plot was weak....the Director didn't effectively play up the dramatic moments by punctuating the tenseness of the environment and situations.....The suspense was severely inhibited by an inconsistently paced screenplay.....There was also a great deal of pointless dialogue throughout, which aimlessly inter-mixes English and Spanish together in conversations between Manolo and his crew..... ... For the money he had, Ecuador's own Sebastian Cordero has made a really good movie.
And even though the ending is not really satisfying after all the build up, the performances and realism of the story of Crónicas make for an intense thriller that sadly, is probably based on real events.
